Protest to coincide with Minister Harris’ visit to Letterkenny Hospital

first_imgA protest has been organised to coincide with Minister Simon Harris’ visit to Letterkenny University Hospital. The Minister for Health will be officially opening the Integrated Blood Sciences Department and the Clinical Skills Laboratory at the hospital at 1:30pm.Protesters are assembling outside the main entrance of the hospital at 12 noon on Monday afternoon. The protesters will highlight the trolley crisis and the lack of funding, staff, and resources. This follows the implementation of the Full Capacity Protocol several times over the year, with management urging patients to go to their GP and only attend the Emergency Department in the case of a serious emergency.Organiser Gerard Gallagher says; “Enough is enough; the Government has to do something about this. I’m urging people to come out and support this protest and also public representatives.”“This protest is for the people of Donegal, everyone is welcome to attend – no political banners.”“I’m urging the people of Donegal to support this protest this Monday. This could be your wife, husband, son, daughter, mother, father, or grandparents on a hospital trolley for 10 to 24 hours, so this affects us all.” “Now is your chance make your voice heard folks.”Protest to coincide with Minister Harris’ visit to Letterkenny Hospital was last modified: December 10th, 2016 by Elaine McCalligShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img read more
