Patsy Bird, longtime local resident, dies

first_imgWHITTIER – Patricia (Patsy) Bird, who moved to Whittier 77 years ago at the age of 5, died Saturday in a local hospice, according to her daughter, Nancy. Patsy Bird was born in 1924 in Huntington Beach. In her early years, Bird moved frequently because her father, who was employed by Halliburton Oil Co., was transferred from place to place. She graduated from Whittier High School in 1942 and married Robert Bird in 1944. After World War II, they moved into a house on the corner of Penn Street and Washington Avenue. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
