Garmin reports Q1 2016 revenue uplift, but margins down

first_img Related Garmin has reported total revenue of US$624 million in the first quarter of 2016, growing 7% year on year. The company’s outdoor, fitness, aviation and marine business units collectively grew 17% and contributed 69% of total revenue. Garmin’s Fitness segment reported 9% year on year revenue growth in Q1 2016. It now accounts for 23% of total company sales.Overall, gross and operating margins were respectively 54.5% and 16.6%.In an executive overview, Cliff Pemble, Garmin’s President and Chief Executive Officer said “We started out 2016 strong with total revenue growth of 7% led by robust double digit growth in our marine and outdoor segments, and high single digit growth in our fitness and aviation segments.”He continued, “With the majority of the year still ahead of us, we recognize that there are many challenges and uncertainties yet to be encountered. We will continue to focus on innovation and execution to deliver compelling products to the markets we serve.”Fitness revenues up but margins downThe fitness segment posted revenue growth of 9% in the quarter reflecting strong growth of the Garmin Elevate wrist heart rate technology products within the activity tracker and running categories. This was reportedly ‘offset by lower multisport revenues’.On a year-on-year basis, gross margin and operating margin declined to 51% and 12%, respectively. Garmin noted that the gross margin decline was driven by product mix within the quarter. The operating margin decline ‘reflects the continued investment in advertising and research and development to support our long-term goals in the segment.’Meanwhile, Garmin’s recently launched vívoactive HR and vívofit 3 are shipping and the company feels it is ‘well positioned with [its] 2016 product roadmap.’www.garmin.comlast_img read more

Ketua KNKT: Depnaker Perlu Turun Tangan Tinjau Jam Kerja Pengemudi Shuttle

Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading… RelatedKenali Shuttle Bus Jakarta – Bandung, Beda Perusahan Beda pula Fasilitasnya16/02/2017In “Bus AKAP”Empat Proyek Pembangunan Perkeruh Kemacetan di Tol Cikampek05/12/2017In “Darat”Gratis Sampai Tahun Baru, Jalan Tol Layang Jakarta-Cikampek II Membentang 36,4 Km13/12/2019In “Darat” Sumber: istimewa Kehadiran jalan tol Cikampek – Cipularang memang ada kalanya membawa keuntungan bagi warga Ibukota yang hendak bertolak menuju Bandung, pun sebaliknya.
